Mother’s Day Musings on Parenting
Everyone wants to think they’re doing it correctly and that their way is the right. We’re all just making it up as we go along, jiving up what we experienced vs what we wished we’d experienced, and hoping that the good outweighs the bad, the scars are few and far between and at the end of the day everyone is clear that they are loved.
So here is Parenting part 1 - my mish-mash of thoughts and musings on parenting.
Intro and Goals
My view now begins with I am a loved daughter of God. I am worthy of kindness, respect and grace. I am worthy of hard work, investment and effort. I am worthy of planning, prepping and resting.
I want women around the world who are feeling lost or who need to know there is another ally in their corner, a place to go for a new take on old ideas or new ideas with a little wisdom on top (I did mention I’m 40… my knowledge has transitioned from smart to wisdom - feel free to claim that as well if it fits).
Faith Hope & Love
When faith, hope, and love come together, they create an incredible force. They give us the strength to stay positive, the courage to keep going, and the capacity to be kind and compassionate to those around us. They make us stronger, more resilient, and more emotionally intelligent. So if you're looking to increase your impact, feel powerful and yet also have the ability to release negative feelings and be free look no further than faith, hope, and love. They are the perfect combination to make you the best version of yourself.
Where is Faith?
Hope and faith are two closely intertwined concepts. Hope is the belief that a desirable outcome will occur, while faith is the trust and confidence that such an outcome is possible. Together, hope and faith provide a powerful combination for manifesting desires and achieving goals.

Where is Love?
Biblical love is a selfless, sacrificial love that puts the needs of others above one’s own. It is an unconditional love that is not based on emotions or feelings, but on faith and obedience to God. Biblical love is an action and a commitment to serve and honor others, even if it means sacrificing one’s own desires and comfort. It is a love that is patient, kind, and forgiving, and seeks to restore relationships. The Bible describes love in 1 Corinthians 13: 4-8
Why Hope?
Hope gives people the strength to continue fighting for what they believe in and never give up, even in the face of adversity. It gives them the ability to comeback time after time to become the person they want to be with the people they want to be with. Without hope, it can be easy to become overwhelmed by negative thoughts and emotions. It’s easy to be totally buried in life by life from life, but with hope, it is possible to see a light at the end of the tunnel.
S.O.A.K. an Acronym for All of Life
Certain principles apply to all of life. Whether you want to learn a new hobby or deepen a relationship, opposite ends of the spectrum, but there is a formula I’ve found that helps achieve your ultimate end goal. S.O.A.K.
Hope and Accountability
Hope and accountability may sound like they’re from different worlds but when you learn to marry up what you’re hopeful for and getting accountability to make it happen, you become unstoppable.
Truth Tellers, Love Lushes & Hope Healers
Truth, love and hope are foundational principles. It’s a hard but worthy endeavor to take charge of your words and feelings. It’s difficult to stand up for yourself, it’s scary to put your heart on the line, it’s crushing when your hopes are not met but mingling our truth, love and hope ultimately is what is going to heal each other and ourselves.
Hope is a Skill
Hope is a skill, not a pie in the sky, idealistic, passing crazy. Hope can be learned, grown, cultivated and optimized for the betterment of daily life and passed on as a legacy for generations.
Hope is in the Hard Stuff
Quick fixes aren’t sustainable but doing the work and gaining the tools you need to find happiness and hope will change your future and give you joy in the day to day.
Revolution in Your Life
Ditch the lengthy resolutions and find one area of your life to revolutionize.
Back to Basics
Somehow the word “basic” has turned into a bad word but when you’re looking to make changes in your life, starting a personal revolution, basic changes make the biggest impact.
Starting Over vs Work in Progress
Stop starting over, when you get to the point of quitting, learn to rest.
Destined for Greatness
You are destined for greatness. You are God’s first choice; there is no plan B. God has designed you with a passion for His Glory and your fulfillment. Claim it. Create it. Do it.
Motherhood: fight for yourself not with yourself
Stop fighting with yourself and start fighting for yourself.
